Language acquisition is an unconscious progress. I did not realize this notion until my tutee asked me why I could remember all those complicated Chinese characters. At that time, I could not answer immediately with a reasonable explanation for I actually did not know the exact reason. Additionally, when I am teaching Mandarin, sometimes, I find it difficult for me to elaborate some grammar points or Chinese character writing strategies to my student in that they are related to some language knowledge I used to take for granted. Thus, I will concentrate on enhancing my teaching approaches’ effectiveness concerning these basic language knowledge points in the future.
