During the event, we divided the room into different zones for a great number of games in Chinese Childhood. For example, Drop the Handkerchief, One Two Three Woodman, Hawk Catches Chicks, Where Are You, Jian Zi, Jumping Squares, Rope Jumping etc. The rules were easy, but the joy was on fire. All the participants from different cultural background gathered together, memorizing the age of innocence, looking for the energy and enthusiasm back to the childhood.

Our second Tutor Workshop

On October 23th, we had our second Tutor Workshop. Lots of our tutor elites squeezed their time for this workshop since they all felt obliged to improve their skills to guarantee the quality of both teaching and learning.  During the workshop, our experienced president Linlin Wang who majored in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Language gave us a lot of instructions and shared the precious experience as a Chinese teacher. She even gave us a lot of activity suggestions to make the tutor class more interesting and attractive to tutees, so did our vice president Ruiqi Zhu, vp teaching Chenxi Li.

New Tutor Team, A Fresh Start

At the beginning this fall semester, we recruited a new tutor team that consists of excellent Master students at Penn GSE. All the new members have their own sights of tutoring Chinese and value very much the expansion of Chinese language and culture.

(Our new team)

During our first workshop, all the board members gave great speeches and shared their precious experiences with all the new tutors who dedicate themselves in contributing to TC@Penn. All the members learnt a lot and got familiar with this big family.

(Everyone is concentrated)

(Team building)

With this fresh start, we are eager to make more progress in our tutoring quality and we do hope all the tutors and tutees enjoy themselves this semester!
